Just been lowered and loud bagning noises

right got my car lowered over the weekend..... was spot on no noise until last night, when a loud clunk was coming from the front driver strut, every small bump i hit makes a loud clunk really worried not sure what it could be, everything after lowering is tight and doesnt seem to be different

    the driveshaft has no leaks
and i have no ideas what it could be

    any advice will be awesome

rihgt just been out to look.... still cant see anything obvious.... when the car is stand still pushing the front strut down using the bonnet there is no noise bump when driving over any bump bang sound awful, could this be a driveshaft or mount or something

i had a banging on my old 1.1, was a wishbone problem. but mine was standard height

could be the drop link, or a bottom ball joint

i think the clunking will come from the rubber seals being split (some 1 correct me if am wrong) - ball joint, track rod end, drop link all have them so it may be a case that one of these seals has been damaged when the guy was dismantling the strut from the car. if they are damaged then just buy news ones from your local citroen parts desk. they dont cost alot to replace.

could be you have not done the damper rention nut up tight enough so damper is jumping

    Hi
As far as I know the 1.1 does not use drop links because the ARB is connected directly to the wishbones/bottom arms what ever you want to call them. It will not be driveshaft so don't waste time with that. Most likely cause is loose ball joint pinch bolt or excessively worn balljoint given the noise is so harsh and the car has just had work in that area . Next in line is dead ARB bushes then loose nuts on strut top or loose strut mounting bolts (3 of them under bonnet each side).

Any MOT station will be able to quickly check this, I suggest you do this sooner rather than later mate.

could be a top mount.....might are shot and i get this noise all the time.

cheap fix if you can do it yourself.

my bet would be track rod ends or drop links have gone..

well i hope to get it fixed tomo are any of the above really pricey i need it fixed as i want track time

give the strut a pull and see if it tight , if u moves check the top nut on the strut, also if it only does it when u hid bumps have the cut the bump stop down by 5mm, cause it could be the bump stop stopping the shock from compressing when hitting a bump
