hi, i no people keep asking about lowering but ive got some lowering springs that i bought for my saxo vtr as its lowered about 30-40mm at the moment.
i was just wondering if lowering it 55mm will cause any damage to my car?
also is £50 to fit them a good price?
    cheers

depending on how old your car is, how many miles its done , it might wear driveshafts quicker... going that low on say a mark 1 with 80+k miles id do dampers too..

if its a mk2 with 75k- miles it should be fine.. its just personal experiance and luck.

cheers mate, yh its a mk 2 with 40 odd thousand on
so should it be okay then?

Should be more than fine mate , but obviously there is always that chance the shafts might go .. could happen on any age car any miles etc..
but the low milage and age of your car should have next to no chance mate..

oh and thanks for the wiper grom fitted perfectly

Itll be fine but id always recommend upgrading the dampers aswel. Itll be fine to fit just springs but if you're after a decent quality ride aswel you'll wish you saved the extra to do the dampers at the time time

£50 is perfectly reasonable to fit them too

Some might be cheaper but its a perfectly acceptable price

Might be wrong but surely if you fit 55mm springs to a car without getting uprated shortened shocks, the standard shocks will not last very long and ride would be horrible?? And "fulchP" what did you mean mind the power steering pump? My mate has a mk2 vtr lowered 60mm and his power steerings just gone!

If you lower any saxo by more than 45 mm then you run the risk off the power stearing pipes rubbing away and spliting on the stearing arms, it's happened to me twice now, first the low preasure return went, soo I boshed it, and now the high preasure pipe has split, not good, a lot off coin if you dnt relocate the pipes out off the way, p.s lowered my car to 75mm on front 120mm on the back, low and slow my friends!!

Mine's been down 50mm for a while now and it's fine

I thought mine would be fine too, wen I did have it that low but it took about 6 months too rub through one off my pipes.

lowering any more than 30-40mm will wear your driveshafts faster along with other things, so just for looks your pocket better be deep!
