Straight through with silencer?

  1. #1
    Hi,

Been offered a straight through sportex centre section, but it has a mid silencer...

Just wondering what sort of difference the mid silencer makes?

Will it stop any chances of raspyness / popping when i evntually get a de cat + back box?

    Thanks.

    Craig

EDIT: Just looked and mine looks like straight through from the downpipe to back box... its only a furio so the cats in the manifold... what sort of things would i gain from getting a straight opposed to mine already?

Never know the Sportex's had centre silencers

not a straight through if it has a silencer

there is no gain from you changing really.

Bigger bore size maybe on the sportex.

And this is what mine looks like on the car atm:

Does that mean that mines a straight through standard?

    What about bores?

Is that centre pipe standard then?

Also is it good to have a bigger bore or smaller... since ide probs get a ss race section if it needs to be smaller...

Bores depend more on what else you have donw.

E.G - A trubo saxo, would benefit from a bigger exhaust than just a breathed on one.

My exausts system is standard lol...

Does that mean that furio's come with straight through centre sections then?

And also how can you tell mines got a big bore? Like where are you looking at?

Would i benifit from e.g. getting a ss straight through?

they do, but i think they only do it for ones with a cat/decat pipe in place.

i have a sportex cat back and i have a cherry bomb like silencer in the middle.
deep sound and pops and burbles abit but its only a 1.1 so

Yes furios are ment to run in this order, manifold , cat , straight through pipe and rear silencer, best advice mate is too shop around for a tidy four branch manifold and keep the rear silencer, mine shoots flames in gear changes, or cheaper option would be too take the cat off and smash the element out then you will hav a diy de-cat pipe.

Sounds like a right ASBO of a exhaust.
