Important! : I put my cams and i have not lumpy idle!!

    On tuesday i put on my BP285 onto my VTS and i have not lumpy idle , the cars isnt as fast as i thougt it would be , i have them now with the inlet retarded and the ex a bit advanced , and i have tapping sound when i rev the car , why?could it be that i have the cambelt moved? or something like that?

    Dont know much on these cams, are they mild or not? A remap would probably unleash a little more power mate.

    try pouring a little bit of oil over the cams/tapets had a similer prob with mine

    if its tapping it sounds like the valves are catching to me.... Put them back to standard timings, does it still tap.

    Did you replace the tappets with new ones when you fitted the new cam?

    What Steve said. If it's tapping badly the valves are probably catching the pistons!

    Leave it at standard timing or have it timed up properly using a DTI to the lift at TDC on the cam specsheet.

    this cams are similar to 708 or PH3 they are mild , the valves are not touching the pistons because ist a very loud tapping sound , is the sound when the tappets doesnt have enough oil and i dont know why..
