Radiator Question

If I was to run a Nissens Rad on my VTR, do I still need to have an engine fan?

    Thanks!

    Yeeease
  3. #3
    Yes lol
  4. #4
Why would you not want it?

The Nissens rad makes the car run cooler doesnt it with it being made of Alloy? So is the Engine fan really required if the car is running cooler? I have heard people say they struggle to get it past the half way mark, and thats when the car is stuck in traffic?

They still work theyre way up. When your moving it wont be too bad with no fan as they raley come on unless your ragging the car. When your stuck in traffic they can creep up, but you shouldnt run a car with no fan if it did start to run hot then you got no way of colling it. They dont way too much and dont take too much current if thats what your worried about.

I was just curious because my fan snapped at FCS and the rad went, so I thought that buying a Nissens rad would be fine...

    Its cool...

Its just the sitting in traffic in the summer especially thats the problem really and city driving.

What about a Nissens with a twin fan setup on a VTR?
  10. #10
You'll need the fan for any track events or sitting in traffic for long periods of time matey.

Would it be beneficial? Or would just the single fan on the VTR be enough?

A single Fan would be fine mate. A standard VTR rad only has a single fan, so a nissens alu core would have even less need for a twin fan set up, unless you want quick cooling.

the more cooling you can get the better. you wont over cool as the thermostat will stop that.

No need for twin fans ... ever.
Unless you are a regular to the Sahara Desert.

Exactly. Twin fans are a complete waste of mollah

An advantage is they will cool the rad down marginally quicker than the single fan setup, so depends if you drive in the redline constantly lol

im running my vts with no fan... it gets very hot lol! even with a nissens i'd be using a fan (im picking one up tomorrow)
