new clutch problem, very hot?!

i had a new clutch about a month or two, every now and then it seems to fuck up, just to test ill get up to the limiter in 1st... now after this at about 4k revs and above the clutch slips... it will do this until i stop for a few hours. i have noticed it isnt really pulling too well aswel, not that i want my car to wheel spin but ive noticed also that when droping the clutch hard.. there is no wheel spin and it seems hesitant to pick up.

it did this today... (just spent £300 to get the fucker through its MOT) so i was fucking fuming, and to be honest i just kept purposely slipping the clutch, getting it above the 4k mark and it dosnt move just makes alot of noise, when i stopped i poped the bonnet and notice that it was RED HOT, i couldnt touch the frame work at the front of the car where the headlight is as even this was extremely hot.

i had the clutch replaced as the old release bearing had gone, however this clutch seems WORSE! im not happy at all, spent alot of money on the piece of shit and its one problem after another.

anyone got any ideas why its doing this?! help really appreciated!

i had a punto that did exactly the same as this and it turned out the oil from gearbox was leaking and contaminating the clutch. id put my money on your gearbox seal.

i did think of that, and there has always been visible oil around the gearbox seal; but this isn't happening all the time, just when it gets "thrashed" and clutch is dropped too hard, and when its stops doing it could this be because the oil has dried up or burnt away (wouldn't it continually do it?) hopefully it is this and not something more serious, what could be the explanation for the hot engine bay though?

Well the clutch is going to get hot when it slips - friction.

Sounds like it's a gearbox off job to investigate

    could this be anything else?

sounds to me like you got oil going on the clutch,

as above its a gearbox off job to investigate .

who fitted the clutch pal? go back to them???

MAy be a faulty clutch if not as above... contaminated with oil from gear box? or bearings knackerd in the new clutch?
