Help please this cant be good, i have got the standard air box on my 98 vtr with the hot air inlet coming from the head to the air box, well after messing with my air box i noticed that the conection between the 2 are soaked with oil it hasnt quite made it into my filter but oil must be shooting up the pipe is this a problem or not???

the engine is running fine other than a small air leak witch i am yet unable to find and the oil level is fine.

am i going to have big problems with this??

Hi, the pipe you refer to if from back right hand side of the rocker cover as you look at engine yes?
This pipe will be oily because it's carrying vapours, there should be a honeycomb looking oval shaped metal filter on th airbox where the pipe goes into it. From memory you need to seperate the main filter body from the pipe attach, ent to get to this little filter. Give it a clean in petrol/thinners etc and make sure the pipe is not blocked and the rocker cover is clean inside.

Should be fine after that however if your motor is worn excessive blow by past the rings will soon see oil in the airbox again mate.
