Mines 60 on front, and meant to be 60 on back. Had 4 people in car yesterday. Had no problems, even going over bumps. So found now disadvantages yet!

    Advantage, it looks great!

handling will improve with lowering, ASLONG as its not too much
ride comfort can be lost, at certain heights, and damage can be caused if too low!

im low, like stupidly low and its a horrible ride, and the handling is utter wank... my next sax isnt going below 50mm tbh!

alot of people will say 40-60mm is the best way forward

    Lowered 35mm -

    30mm for handling

    40+mm for looks

All depends on what kit spec you lower it on really.

loving your motor mate , i think that is spot on height. can i ask what springs youve used please

If your referring to me then i have the Apex 35mm kit thats on offer on Kamracing

I wouldn't lower without uprated dampers to be honest. Mine was down 40mm on a Spax PSX kit and I loved it... although the ride was pretty harsh if I'm honest.

They are pretty capable cars (handling wise) as standard, and it will feel a bit more solid when given a drop. The ride will suffer though... so depends what you want from your car. Standard height is the best all rounder if you can see past the 4x4 look.

Im 50mm on the front and 80mm on the back slightly sits higher on the front but some speed bumps would bottom me out any lower on the front as for the back i can have a full car and not have no problems! comfort is wank, lets say i dont let people with back problems in my car!!!
  16. #16
it all depends on the kit mate. lee_vtr was going around 100mm but used the best parts and it handled well. yes comfort is poor but that will happen at any height.
  17. #17
i personally would bump it up your list to first place and deffo get it done. i think the saxos look wank unitll there lowered even with alloys exhaust and so on i still think they look stupid untill there lowered

heres mine its about 35-40mm on bilstien grp n's and gmc springs and handles like a go-kart
  19. #19
how much you looking at for a decent kit?
  20. #20
Why is lower than 40mm bad for handling?

If you dont have enough travel when you hit a bump on a corner it will send the car off the road. The lower the car the smaller the bump required to spit you off...

Im down 60mm and my manifold has hit the road, not a speed bump just the road - country lane with only a slight slope to the left.

I can go over the normal speed bumps no problems, but the shitty little turd ones that sit in the middle of the lane would kill the car.

Handles fine with 'normal' tyres but with poor tyres on, the back end loved to come and say hai!

i have lowerd mine 60 and mine seems to be fine. no rubbing on sppedbumps etc. it handles aswell

60 on the front 40 on rear, need uprated front shocks tho, originals wear out too quick especially with all these speed bumps around! Other than that it handles great!!
