what am i to expect?

   if i put a larger intercooler on my vtr turbo
   
   will it bring the temperature down?
   
   and, will i loose boost as its more area to fill?
   
   am i going to feel that i haven lost power?
   
   if so , what can i do to stop it?

   Temp will come down, but it's not just about the size of the cooler. Quality, twin or single core, positioning all play a major factor.
   
   You will not loose boost pressure, but you might notice an lag increase as the space requires longer to reach the same boose pressure.
   
   The feeling would be wrong, but it might feel faster with more lag

   it really depends how big a jump in size. you will still be running the same pressure so really you wont lose out. plus the point of a bigger intercooler is to cool a larger volume of air before it enters the inlet manifold. so should notice a gain

   im sure it depends on the size of the turbo aswell. a friend of minehas one ot them 1.3 toyota starlet gt's. he has fitted a massive suberu front mount on it, takes up the whole front end lol. but ders no lag at all.
