#2have you got a locked ecu? before any more questions get asked as its something some people allways fail on
-
#3ecu is unlocked if i put 12v strait to fuel pump it will start and run but i dnt think its very safe so just need sum1 to tell me which wire i need to cut an wat not
-
#4seen this a few times (my gti did it for one of them)
what i did wa i got a live off the fuse box and a fuse (i cant remember amperage atm) then a switch and then ran along the loom to the fuel pump live (but splice it in so the origonal is still connected)
then turn on ignition and you can switch on the pump and fire the car -
#5as alex says i did the same but a little more of a bodge.
just ran a cable from the battery through the dash to a switch within reach then continued the cable to the fuel pump. -
#6will it not set on fire tho lol i recanty spent £1500 on it and dnt realy wnt it to go up i flames but if its worked for u then ill give it a try

#7car has been going for about 4months now without problem

#8wat amp wire did u use for this. and do u have any idea how i can get past my starter motor prob. coz i was just thinkin if splicin into my egnithion wirs with a switch. but the only prob with this is my ecu is unlocked so i dnt have an imob .so any1 could just break in my car and just drive it away

#9erm 8amp i think, was just whatever i could find laying around in the garage.
as for your starter problem wire up a push button switch but with a hidden on off switch elsewhere for security
-
#10i used some 12amp iirc (was a while back when i did it)
my gti runs fine like it (im redoing it all now so its all hidden as ive traced all the loom back to behind the dash)
and the thing about the car getting stolen they cant steal it if they dont know to turn the fuel pump on
-
#11iv had all my loom picked and wired up properly now. an auto elec guy did it for £20. just need to find sum engine mods now .just dnt no wat to do first .iv already got k@n air filter and im having an full exaust built on the car .but wats the best cheapest mods i can do nxtQuote:i used some 12amp iirc (was a while back when i did it)

#12If you turn the key to the 3rd position, so the starter motor is spinning, and HOLD it there, does the engine run? and when you let the key 'spring' back to position 2 does it stop?
If so you've probably wired up the starter motor incorrectly.
There should be a power from the battery to it, then a take off onto the big loom on the SAME bolt. The other 2 bolts are starter signal and earth, but there should be 3 wires off the loom going to the starter - 2 to the big one, and 1 to the little one. The 3rd one goes into the starter motor itself.
