Difference in Manifolds?

basicaly im starting to look at upgrading my manifold on my vtr.. its running 111.2bhp at the mo on a standard manifold and im pretty sure a nice manifold will open a few my bhp for me

    but any ways...

is it worth paying the 150+more for a super sprint over a raceland? and how do janspeed compare to these ones?

i had a janspeed on my old saxo and it did liven it up a lilttle bit.. but i havnt had anything to compare it to..

    XCheers logan.xx

My Piper 4-1 was a work of art it cost a bit though was around £320.

On the dyno I made 111hp.

Logan Im curious what have you done to achieve 111hp on a standard setup?

TBH 4-2-1s dont differ to much, its more the quality and the fact they miss the oil filter etc

Yes it may give a little more, but in my opinion if you on a budget, its not really worth the extra.

Get a Raceland or Janspeed, the others arent worth the extra money unless you plan to go further with the engine.

111.2bhp without a mani in the first place is a bit high. take dyno results(espically when your talking fly figures) with a pinch of salt as most these days are awful.

you will notice a difference with a mani, frees the engine allot, try stay 4-2-1 for a road car, keeps the power band at a better position. the difference in price is more the quality of materials over the quality of performance

raceland for the money is a great choice.

really you just pay for quality and ease of fitting rather than extra performance

Cheers, well it was dyno'd buy a fully calibrated brand new dyno star dyno at cambridge college

i have all the print outs as proof, also my mates vtr with full system and induction ran 109bhp and his was mark 2. and im pretty sure any one at sutton cruise will agree its running more than alot off vtrs

santapod 16.6 which is faster than most vtrs there lol..

Also had a full rebuild 2 days befor i brought it and i have full engine report off it

Im funny a custom scorpion twin depluex system, with raceland with green filter insert, ported throttle body. mark 1 silver top.

Belive or not doesnt really bother me as i have proof.

Any ways cheers guys! think im just going to go for a raceland and save some moneys

like i said take with a pinch of salt. every dyno is different and you cannot work out exact fly figure without the engine coming out and being put on an engine dyno! have a nice day

I did a 16.6 in my old Saxo, totally stock.

I'd say pinch of salt too. 15.9 and last time I was on the rollers made 103bhp... Expecting about 105 next time.

Racelands are cheap and cheerful, they do the job, and do it well. Once you've got them to fit right.
