Servicing

hi...i bought my car a couple of months ago and it's not been serviced in years so it needs to be done pretty soon....ive got enough money to have it done but if i could save money i'd prefer it obviously.....shall i play safe and take it to a nationwide garage such as kwik fit and possibly pay more or a private one and save money? whats anyone else done? thanks

kwik fit etc are crap. Find a good garage mate, ask around friends, family etc to find someone that is good.

If it aint been serviced in years have the cam belt etc done so you no everything is sorted.

Yeah as said, ask people you know and if they can recommend a garage for you and give them a try. Avoid big name garages if you don't want to break the bank.

mate a full service is piss easy to do yourself, plus you will save the money you wanna save.

buy yourself a haynes manual off ebay it tells you how to do everything

yeah i was thinking of going it alone maybe with a little help....i bought a haynes manual the other day but havent looked at it properly yet....it would be a hell of a lot cheaper and i read about someone else doing it themselves...they said it wasn't too hard... is it this manual or the older red one? thanks

I change the oil every 3k on my car, but get it serviced every 10. looked aorund at local agarges got a full service for £99. then on top needed the cambelt and alternaterbelt done for an extra £99 and £30 for the alternator belt...
look around you'll get resonable deal some where.

i paid like 20 quid for service parts, 20 quid for oil and did it myself for free so its alot cheaper...
