Aswell as breaking my VTS for spares I've been wondering how easy it would be to fit the VTS setup into my daily VTR?
I've done a search and gathered a load of info about ECU's, clocks etc but just wanted to ask a specific question on my car.
The VTS is a 98 mk1 single plug. The VTR a 99 mk2 single plug. Is it just a case of plug and play? Can I hook one loom up to the other in the engine bay, or is splicing required?
I've found if I change the ECU, I'll have to change the ignition key etc too, is that as straightforward as it seems?
Basically I can do pretty much anything mechanical, its the electrics that will get me! My VTS is a complete car so I can take anything and everything I need to do the job.
Normally I'd not bother and get a VTS, but we've had this VTR 6 years and I know the car is sound underneath, and the mechanics of my 98 breaker are so good I'm a bit begrudged to get rid of it all!
Any thoughts? I've done one 8v 1400 > 1600 conversion before on a 106 (very easy!) but 8v to 16v is totally new to me!
