im going to do an engine conversion from my furio to a vtr, both engines are single plug but the vtr dials are anolog and the furio ones are digital, i would prefer to keep digital dials so could i just put in a set of digital vtr dials or wont they work?
conversion question

#1
-
#2what age is the vtr engine?
-
#3the vtr engine is 97
-
#4think you might need a different loom, have you checked the plugs on both looms?
-
#5and im not sure if the sensors on the engine might be different for the digital dials, i may be wrong though
-
#6both are single plug im just wondering if i can put the digital dials from another vtr instead of the analog ones
-
#7they can be single plug but have different plugs on the other end of the loom though, i think a single plug mk2 furio could have the singple plug loom with a bigger multiplug
-
#8ok i will just keep the anolog dials then lol will be easier
-
#9dont think that would work either unless you chaged to the vtr interior loom as well
-
#10so i will need to change the interior loom aswel just to put the vtr dials in?
-
#11if theyre analogue dials yeah i think so
-
#12whats the easiest way to find out?
-
#13im not too sure if the analogue dials use like a mechanical cable to add miles, where the digital ones use a wired sensor. we need clarification on that lol, ive never worked on a saxo with the analogue dials
-
#14ok mate. if i would have to change the wiring to fit the mk1 dials in theory i could get a mk2 vtr dials and just put them in then wouldn need to change the interior wiring
-
#15yeah thats right, but im not sure that the engine loom wiring would give the right signal to the interior loom and clocks. you might need to use a 90bhp silvertop loom and change some sensors. i could be completely wrong lol
-
#16lol ok mate i guess i will see what happens when i do the conversion.
-
#17The digital dials run on the mk2 vtr loom. If u get the loom of a newer VTR i could imagine it would work mate
