#2get some back to black stuff, go for big brand names (there usually the best) like auto glym etc.
or if you have deep pockets, get them colour coded, looks so much better imo -
#4even the best ones, autoglym's bumper protect (?) and meguiars trim detailer dont last as long as they claim.
you could apply it every week when you wash the car... other options would be to either diy/get a bodyshop to spray your bumpers matt black or colour code the bumpers like said above. im not a fan of colour coding them personally, too much colour can be overkill but its your car so up to you

#6i just took a different approach sprayed them with primer paint and laquer from halfords and went for a twotone flat arch gettin them sprayed would be better then back to black because it wont wear off alot of people i no use cooking oil and it gives the same affect as back to black

#7P-courty- how did you go about spraying your own bump strips? did you take the bumpers and side bump-strips off ? sorry for the thread hi-jack!
-
#8if there very white or really faded.... try using a heat gun on a small part of bumper, trim it revitalises the plastic dont do it on one spot for to long i had the same with my grill came up a treat..

#9halfords bumper spray paint is a matt black i painted my front bit as previous owner tried to coloir code it blue made a mess and sprayed it black and the blue ws showing through, but after i did it with the halfords stuff looked like new and matched all the other bits

#10Suprised no-one else suggested it but I used black shoe polish on my bumpstrips and splitter. It worked really well. I'm half temped to have a go at colour coding my own bumpers etc.

#11i tried the spray stuff and that faded within hours try the stuff that comes in a bottle, you put it on leave for a few minutes and buff off it needs redoing once a month but works really well

#12Simoniz Back to Black, Autoglym Bumper Black, Meguiars Endurance Gloss - Best stuff i've used
Either that or colour code/gloss black your strips yourself. As long as your carefull, can be done with a rattle can

#13worth having a go at you rekon benjee?

#14ye took all of them off rubbed them down with wet and dry paper done about five layers of gray plastic primer 6 layers of paint and 3 layers of laquer and had no problems with it u'll just need to mask some parts out
-
#15Yeah definately, mask up, fine wet and dry to flat them off (as constant back to black applications soak into the plastic, so you need to flat them off well) then a few coats of primer, sanding inbetween. Last coat of primer, soak your sand paper in water to get it extra smooth. Then few coats of your chosen colour and lacquer if needed

I was gonna do mine, i masked up, got all the wet n dry and paint, but bottled it as it looked like rain
Good luck, keep us updated if you have a crack
