    drive abit slower.
strip the car of everything, less weight... dont turn the heaters on, dont open your window. dont change gear as much, dont slow down as much / speed up so fast...

its all abotu keeping that one constant speed which makes the car more efficant, i dont know what it is on a sax... it used to be 56mph on a mondaeo my friend had, so he would sit on the motorway at 56 mph on to get the best MPG haha! twat.

yer as tonto_vtr said reallly its just alot of little things that can improve it reallly

havce a good read through adsayers thread thats in the link couple of posts above, i read that and improved my mpg loads

i was getting about 45-46mpg from my mk1 vtr that was fully stripped, but had full exhaust and mani, along with a 1.4xsi gearbox, so is a shorter box that vtr, and means lower speed at higher revs so in theory i should be getting shit mpg lol but i dont haha and i drive a similar mileage to you a week too i drive about 300 or 350 i cant remember lol

alot of people cant even get this sort of mpg or what your getting from a standard vtr just keep what your doing and improve on a couple of things and use the tips from that link and you could see 50mpg but will be hard lol could be a good challenge though man

its all about driving a consistancy in the higher gears so for example if you have most of your time doing motorway driving you should in theory have better mpg to someone that goes around the town more, this is becuase of many factors for example your speed, gear changes, braking, tyre pressures and grip, car aero dynamics ex: huge spoiler dragging airforces etc.. weight of the car and so on and so on really a never ending list of factors that result in how good is your mpg!
