Upstream oxygen sensor?

Hi guys i hope you can help me here. After getting the car it's 3rd service at citroen last month they told me that said sensor was knackered...the engine management light is also on.

Is the sensor they are on about just one of the lambda sensors in the manifold? If so which one? And is it an easy job to replace yourself?

I have basic knowledge and am willing to have a crack as usual.

The car in quesion is a 52 plate saxo vtr.

    Thanks, Andy

could be the second one by the cat, just a case of replacing it

If its the upstream sensor it will be the one upstream (before) the cat... The one after the cat would be downstream.

Excelent. So it'll be the one that goes in through the top of my downpipe.

Ok guys, i've purchased and fitted the "upstream oxygen sensor" (cost = £45 )

My only problem is that the engine managment light is still on. Do i need to get this reset by a garage or is there maybe something else wrong somewhere?
