I do cash jobs every week in my garage, no spray booth just everything else i would need. Garage is 36ft by 26ft, boarded the roof up and painted both the roof and walls white. Jobs come out great, dont get many nibs.
Aslong as you have a decent compressor, and air tools there is no need for a spray booth. There is plenty of bodyshops still around without spray booths.

aslong as it's dry and clean you could use a garage and you can hang bits to dry from the celling it's fine.

    yeh same,

only advantages of a proper spray booth like what we have at work, is that it has running water underneith, and run it down the walls, and then obvs you have the oven to bake the paint on,

but appart from that, i do my bits in the garage,

i would never do a whole car in there though haa, do that at work

    Running water in a booth?
Thought everyone stopped using those 20 years ago!
The primary benefit of a modern booth is the extraction - keeps overspray and paint imperfections to a minimum.
Secondary is the bake factor - baked paint is harder than paint left to dry over time.

right .. i have a crazy idea. i have a storage container and old inner tent (tall enough to stand up in) a space heater and a dehumidifier, oh and an old henry hoover. Was thinking of setting up the inner tent (hanging it from the ceiling and weighted down in the corners. setting up a little table inside and rigging up the henry hover as a makeshift extractor fan. Then its obviously the heater to heat up the area andd the dehumidifier to take moisture out of the air. Is this the musings of a mad man? or could this work

Paint lots of parts in there....all came out really nice...
