Petrol smell

hey all,
was driving to work this morning and had the heater on 1,there was a really strong smell of petrol coming through the vents!!any ideas what could be causing this???

could be nothing

it usually happens it your putting your foot down

unburnt petrol in the exhaust etc

wasnt putting my foot down was really foggy plus i dont speed!!

If it isn't a recurring problem then there's usually no problem at all. Could of been the dirty van in front of you

have you checked for any leaks in the fuel line?..
are you using alot of petrol?....

i had that smell when my breather filter on my engine had a hole in it..... check that possibly

if you have in inducion kit and have a little filter for your breather that will prob be it best to check fuel lines though just incase

yea my car stunk of petrol the other week when the pipe on my filter came undone on a speed bump

funny now tho, not at the time

mmm think i mite check mine too, hadnt considered anyfin cud b wrong when mine smelt a bit of petrol the uva day, i do seem to be using quite alot of petrol too n i only travel a few miles most days

check the petrol filter under the skirt infront of the back left wheel, sometimes the pipes come undone or the filter box my be cracked and need to be replaced, only a couple of quid, thats what happened to mine
