Panel Air Filter Setup

   Ok so im going to stick a panel filter in my VTS and run a direct cold air feed straight to it.
   
   Just a couple of questions:
   
   Does anyone know the size of piping i need for the cold air feed so it fits nicely onto the standard panel box bit?
   
   Also its ok to remove the other smaller black box (thinks its a silencer or something and cant remember its name, begins with an r) which feeds into the standard box already isnt it?

   resonator box....i removed mine in my vtr as its just killing air flow when you think about it, somewhere else for it to go other than into your throttle body....

   Thats the word. Thats also what i thought, so it does no harm removing it. Do you know what size piping i need for the cold air feed?

   think it is 3" dont hold me on that though
