sorry this has nothing to do with a saxo

does anyone know much about the rx8 231bhp
in terms of reliability and what high milage is for them thanks

Family member has one. Can't remember what the service intervals/costs are but in 4 years it's been 100% reliable. First service was included in the deal and it's just had annual services since#

Nice motors, seems a bit weird sat in them as you are so low down compared to the windows but very comfy. Not massively quick though

The engine typically tends to munch through oil so if buying used make sure its been looked after/serviced.

i was looking at them before i decided to go back to college, engines seem reliable enough compared to the rx7's but was told by my dads mate who had one that running and service costs are stupidly high

thinking of starting to save for one i really like them and always have

Early models both the lower and higher hp drank oil and mazda ardessed this with the later models.

Built well being jdm just the doors taking getting used too and are just a gimic imo.

Decat's produce upto 2 foot flames btw on full chat lift offs

Its not another cheap arch ally like mercedes tried about 8 years back. If they rusted merc had to accept responcability under warrenty.

My dad had one and absoulutly loved it! Does use oil but all rotary engines use more than a standard engine, build quality was good and the interior was nice and you can actually sit in the back of these even if youre tall! Good sterio, excellent to drive, great handling (pro-drive did the chassis designing) engine was nice and revvy and although not that torquey it went well! Id have one!

i like rx8's too, think they will be a little bit thristy on the old fuel as the engine fires more per revolutions but like said previous the rx7 were prone to tips wearing on the rotors

i dont know what they used but the local mazda dealer pay to have it sorted out i would get one any day just because of the rear doors.

I have one, had it for over 4years now.
Although i do limited miles a year its been trouble free.
Servicing costs are average, though it is juicy when using the rev range.
Rotary engine is designed to use oil to lubricate the rotor tips and other internals, hence using oil.

Handling is fantastic as standard, fit a set of tein coilovers and uprated arb's and you have weapon.

I payed over 20k for mine, you can pick them up for a low as 6k now.
    Bargains to be had.
