Handbrake Movement

   Hi, My step-dad has got a saxo from the auctions (needed a cheap run-around) but the handbrake moves side to side very loosely and also when pulled up it only goes about 3 clicks.

   Just a worn pivot, 3 clicks is a bit tight but it will soon stretch knowing saxos. Don't worry bout it matey.

   Is it not going to be an MOT failure? because it is very wobbly and anyway to fix it? I know how to adjust the actual handbrake just worried about the side to side movement.

   Check the mechanism for wear, if it can't be fixed easily DIY style then goto scrappy and unbolt a better one off another saxo (all the same on each model afaik) and transplant it to yours. Might need to lift carpet and take a seat(s) out to get to the bugger though.
