rear dampers

    asked at a garage tonight how much to change rear dampers he said £40 as he would have to drop the axle is it right that the axle has to be dropped

    No, it's utter bull shit. It's a 15 min job with a jack and a quick 10 min on a ramp.
    It's literally 4 nuts/bolts.

    it really shouldnt be more then a tenner to do it mate. do it yourself. simplest job and there is even a guide on here for it

    ive read guides about it on here and that only mentioned about 2 bolts on either damper but he showed me while my car was on the hydrolic ramp what he would have to do

    You could do it your self it should take no more than 30 mins max...

    undo 2 bolts, take rear shock out, put new one in, 2 bolts done up again

    thats the easiest £40 the garage has ever made

    do u jus twist the torsion bars to drop it?
    im going 40mm front
    should i drop it 50mm bck?

    make your own threads

    and no: take torsion bar out, lower to desired hight, put bars back in

    40 front = 40 back, looks retardted if it not even

    dont listen to him mate. takes 10 minutes each side and youll need IIRC a 18 and 19mm spanner
