Just went to change the alternator on my '00 mk2 VTS to find that the connection types are different between the alternators I have....
The one that came off the car is made by Magnetti Marelli and has two bolts which the wires connect to - one chubby one and one small one for the thin green wire.
However the new one which is a Valeo unit has the bolt for the chubby wire but a 2 pin connector and no bolt for the other wire??
So the question is, does any body know what the 2 pins in the Valeo unit are for ?
and are both required/can I connect the single wire I have to one of those pins?
Any other suggestions or related info would be much appreciated.
