using my vts a a fast road car and planning cams and maybe bodies over the next couple of years, im just looking at getting it running spot on how i want it (brakes, suspension, chassis, tyres, etc) and just wondering if a mocal oil cooler would be of any benefit?

#2Do you drive at full chat for long periods eg track days?
If the answer is yes then itll help a lot. Just for traffic light gran prix no. -
#3if you get one get a thermostatic sandwich plate
it will stop the oil flowing through it when the oils not warm and then when it gets to temp (iirc 89degrees) it opens and lets the oil cool to below then shuts again
stops overcooling (which i have a feeling i may struggle with as i dont have a thermostat it just constantly cools
)
other than that there pretty handy if you are on track giving it the beans -
#4i wont be using it for track for a while yet, just want my car to a good spec.
my engines got one of the standard coolers that goes to the top hose, that should do me for road use and one or 2 track sessions next year? -
#5standard cooler will do for the odd day tbh
i ran my vts with cams on stanard cooler at mallory and it seemed fine -
#6oki doke, wont bother then! need new brakes and a new manifold first anyway!
