1.1 with VTR alloys?

  1. #1
    Hey there,
I'm just about to buy some standard VTR alloys for my 1.1, I was wondering if I need to alter anything regarding nuts/bolts etc.
Any help would be appreciated asap!

    Thanks

As long as its not 3 stud like my 1.1 you should be fine

Thats the only thing off the top of my head that may ruin your fun

No it rubs on the arches at the back, they need to be slightly filed down / bent up, not a hard job.

The only problem i had when i first bought my 'R' alloys(4stud) is that i had to get non tapered bolts as the standard one were tapered and the alloys were non tapered holes so i went to citroen to get them aswell as lock in wheel buts It may rub a tad but liek said before you may need to file them down or just roll the arches

Should be a straight swap as long as they are 4 studs

Ok, so I've got the alloys, but with no nuts - I'll get them off ebay I think
Any ideas for colours? I'm going to take them to the factory with me tomorrow and spray them up, I've got the quartz silver saxo. I can't quite decide whether to just stay silver all over, or maybe go for a gun metal kinda grey?
Anyway, ideas would be much appreciated!

Well, you see, I colour coded all my trim a while back, so it's all silver, everything. I can't help but think that black would be a little harsh on the eye - i wanted a gun metal grey, but i'd have to buy the powder in. So I think I'm going for a dark silver(ish). Just a little darker than the bodywork.
What can you tell me about tyres for these alloys? I've heard that Kumho KU31 is the way to go?
What's the garage telling me about centerless alloys for? He's saying he can't fit tyres on these alloys, cause they need a special machine?

Take your liners out and if its 4 stud all round they will fit.

Make sure you pull them in using 1 bolt on top then 1 bolt in the opposite side to pull the wheel on then use the other 2 to fully lock the wheel in.

They wheel, and should be tight.

Mine fit a treat No rubbing here, as i just dropped down from 17" on my 1.1 lol

are all 4 studs the same spacing? the reason why im asking this question is because i was gonna sell my vtr alloys to my mate but the spacings between each stud on his Starlet seemed to be too small. Could this be due to being the wrong wheel???

Has anybody used the website www.camskill.co.uk to buy tyres from?
I've just found it, and it looks really cheap!

    OK, one last question!!
Is it safe to buy the locking wheel nuts from ebay? they're like £6 a set on there, and citroen just quoted me £20.03 for 4.
Also, should I get more bolts or can I just use the ones my steel wheels were on with?
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks x

    Ahh.
I was just worried that the price might comprimise the quality.. Alright! Buying them now!
Got my tyres of ebay - set of brand new KU31s for £129. And it's only about 15 miles away, and they'll fit them for free!
    Brilliant!!
