i want to get a bit more extra brake on the vtr so what should i do to do this? i was thinking of getting a superchip, strut barce, pipercross induction kit anything else what can be done but not to much $$$ cheers

    superchip: rubbish

strut brace: wont do anything for power

piper cross induction kit: rubbish go for an enclosed filter; BMC, green, simota

Start simple enclosed induction, exhaust system, decat manifold. After that your looking at a few quid. Time to decide between progressing with vtr or changing to vts lump

    What about a cam kit?

Cams would come after the breather mods like Scott suggested, only after all of that would I recommend a chip

    And when I say chip - I don't mean superchip...as they suck..

Get a piggy-back Dastek Unichip - then that can be mapped to your specific car.

But we're talking a few more bucks for that

For more power from a vtr are you want:

    Decent exhaust
    manifold
    decat
    Head work
    High lift cam
    S1 rallye inlet manifold
and remap of std ecu by jampsport

This will see a good power increase throughout the rev range.

how much will all that come too? about £1k ?
  7. #7
Decent exhaust - £275 with decat
    manifold&nbs p; - £275
    decat& nbsp;- included
Head work&n bsp;- £500 - 600(Urm depends how far you wanna go but about)
High lift cam kit- £300 -(Not sure vtr price but got to be about 300)
    S1 rallye inlet manifold - £250 - £300 - ( If you can get one)
and remap of std ecu by jampsport - £350 - (Last years prices)

    TOTAL being around - £1950 - £2100

So cheaper really to go for a VTs conversion in the long run?

Canny bit for not much increase. Vts lump does seem the way, or even sell up and get a vts

what is different about the s1 inlet manifold?
  10. #10
The S1 rally inlet manifold is a very good bit of kit and is "Suposed" to allow a good flow.

Also remember that the S1 rallye was 100bhp from a 1.3 so.......

The power had to come from somewhere.....

Thus the inlet manifold was very unrestrictive on the S1 and bolt straight to the vtr head.

the 1.3 rallye also had big valve head, good flowing ports and good cam

    True ture! mr ratty.....

b4 the days of emission tests!

you say that the manifold just bolts on. what else do i need?
i can get an s1 inlet manifold with the throttle body and fule rail and all of the relivant sensors that are on the throttle body. do i need anything else?

jesus, tuning is fucking very expensive for what you gt outta it, i could buy a vts for that price lol!
