Leave my car fully stripped at the back

    Put MDF down

    Put chequer plate flooring down.

Cant make my mind up, plus i will still need to be able to release my spare wheel.
  2. #2
Chequer Plate flooring....remove spare wheel from under car and place it in back of car....
  3. #3
i have no spare wheel at the moment so. i dont want it in the back of the car tho. would rather have it under car.

  5. #5
just thinking on how hard isit going to be to fit?
  6. #6
Wouldnt imagine it being that hard mate........Do a search on here to see if anyone else has done it...
  7. #7
MDF i think looks mint when all carpeted
  8. #8
not that hard....my mates got it done...hes got his subs trimmed in it. very fookin nice
  9. #9
thats what i was thinking danny.
  10. #10
    i would say MDF
  11. #11
Would MDF not weigh alot? particlary with carpet? i thought stripping was all about weight saving?
  12. #12
well when i had my saxo i had all the back boarded out with MDF and it was great heres a pic.

  13. #13
Why are you stripping it. just for the rally slag 'Look'??

If your doing it to save weight then ditch the spare wheeel as well and leave it bare!

  14. #14
have you got any bigger pics matey?
  15. #15
yeah but the chequer plate stands out more and would look the bizz with the VTR as its silver.
  16. #16
I am stripping it because iv got some bucket seats, Not really arsed about the weight its more for just the look and a to be different from the standard saxo
  17. #17
If its for looks the MDF and carpet mate.
Cheque plate flooring looks awful IMO and in the sun your car will be sooooo hot! will also look like the stairs u use to get on a plane lol
  18. #18
Do it with MDF. Reduces sound a bit and you can cut a small whole in the wood over the nut to release to wood. then make a small flap with the carpet so you can open it. Thats what we done on my mates vtr. just leave a square small whole over the bolt so you can reach it.
  19. #19
if you want it too look smart, how about MDF sheet, then put chequer plate flooring over the top and spray it matt black. them combined will keep the noise down and i think it would look smart all black, if its silver will stand out too much i think

i think it looks real tackey!

MDF covered in black carpet would look really subtle and smart... like the car its going in, if your car had a massive bodykit and huge wheels and lexus lights i would do chequor plate...
  24. #24
Chequer plate looks tacky imo too, I would mdf and carpet it, will look so much nicer.

    Moved to styling section
  25. #25
As the two above me have said a big no no on the chequere plate. Carpet would look alot nicer. If you're going for a sound system? how abbout some fiberglass
  26. #26
    go for this ::

    PINK ICE CARPET</font>

  27. #27
chequer plate is only a front of car thing, if uve got the ice then get the mdf cut to fit it, mdf is cheap wood that doesnt weight much but looks good with carpet, and fibre glass is great, put ya system on some carpeted mdf and fibreglass over it with some neons or something,
    pimp my ride style..
