    hey guys

i want to put a new engine in the sax, but no. i dont want the R or S lump.
there is a reason behind the Diesel lump...

    1) mounts the same?
    2) ECU and shit wise ... how would it effect it.

    i want it doneeeee....

uses a totally different fuel system iirc..

    Plus wiring loom etc...

Just buy a diesel if you want one

The diesel engine you want to fit is the C2 VTS HDI one, loads of torques (but wireing would be a total mare)

With all the other work involved i doubt that would be any harder than new fuel system, etc. It would be an awesome project too.

With a re-map those HDI engines can have loads more torque too, would make an awesome car, even with the the ICE in the back (iirc its not currently there, but i bet i will be eventually) it would pull like mad and keep up with much lighter petrol powered cars.

They tend to average 50 MPG too in the C2's iirc, if they are driven sensibly that is.

interested in knowing more... wiring isnt a problem as i got a mate who is a ca electricion thingy haha!

mounts, i assume that one of the mounts have to be made and welded like a sax VTS transplant?

and when people say fuel system . . . how much of that actually has to be changed?! jsut injector rails and that?

project ftw! i have nout else to do...
the ice isnt in at the moment, no as ive been busy designing a new install, to fit 8, 12" subs... and trying to find the amps to power it all lol.
but its all be found, 2 x Orion 2500 amps, 8 x JBL GT5 12" subs, 350Ah of battery juice, but i think ill need more!
and the box's will be finished being made when i get back after the weekend! as im currently away from work!

but whilst the sax has been complety stripped out, ive taken the time to foam, insulate and second skin...everything!

i wouldnt have the erge to drive like a tit once the finish, couldnt afford to damage whats going in haha!
but the Torque and MPG is what im needing!

still driving the sax stripped and the fuel guage hasnt moved in over a week! and its been alot of driving!
with the old one in the back, i would use a tank in 2 days.

my mate spent 1500 dropping a gti engine in his 1.5d the wiring needs to be hashed here there and everywhere

it says your currently in a 1.1 tbh i dont think theres be much diffrence in mpg etc between the two!

yates 1.1 left my 1.5d in an epic street race for pink slips

i get around 120ish miles to a tenner id say

i need something that will give abit more pull for the new install, currently, with it in i get around 200-250 miles to a tank. maybe less, depending on roads.

atm with nothing in, getting 350 + 400 easy! lol

put the cost of the transplant into your mind

how many tanks would it take to actually start to see a benefit? bearing in mind that with the extra weight you still will be suffering on mpg

dude, now i got the cost in my mind, and that plan has gone down the shitter!
i try not to think of the cost side of things, because it always puts me off...id rather jsut spend and then be like "oh dear i have no moniez left!"

    ill figure something out
ill get one of those BHP chips and fuel eco friendly magnets from ebay yo!

youd need to swap everything really to get any reisual petrol out of the system

so tank pump lines filter ect
the injectors ect would all be in with the engine

and on a westy you allready have the mount under the ecu
    so you wont need that
if your gettig the 1.5 deisel iirc they dont use that mount though but you could swap the actual mount on the motor i think

lines and tank woudl be a pain in the arse... but aslong as i follow the same lines and that, it woudl be ok, i assume they are the same size / shape ect, jsut new ones to make sure they are clean?

what other kind of engines will fit into the sax, that have lower down torque, and will handle the weight of a phatt install... im not bothered about power / speed wise, jsut something that can pull and do more than 20 mph up a hill!

    so thats the 106 1.5 D lump?
