  1. #1
has anyone got throttle bodies on a vts and a standard mapped ecu?
if so what is it really like? any performance figs.
    thanks
  2. #2
you need a aftermarket ecu really, other than that you need to get your current ecu unlocked and specially mapped

you better off with a standalone aswell

i just wanted to know if anyone has had there standard one mapped i.e chipwizards. they say they can do it but wouldnt mind speaking to someone who has already done it. its going to save me getting a loom etc

i think there are 1 or 2 people on here actually...

but it can be done, just you will get better results from an aftermarket

    think about it like this

you get what you pay for

standard ECU: good results but wont get perfect mapping to go with the boddies
aftermarket: can be mapped perfectly for the boddies giving great results

No one on here has it done as far as I am aware, there are 1 or 2 people who have done it but not on here.

as yet no one has answered with how many load sites are being used on a 'modified' Oe ecu, until they do so I personally wouldnt be using one.

Half of the load sites over a decent aftermarket for example can mean a pretty shit map

+ with the predator being P+P you dont need a loom modification
  9. #9
in english please. i speak freaky deeky dutch. lol. what you mean by the predator
  10. #10
Check the predator section abouve kamRacings section on the forum home, everythings explained in there

    its an ECU

rickyp has it done and his rallye is fast.
Im getting my boddies mapped on 24th. How dose anyone no a aftermarket ecu is better?
wayne did mention how many load sites etc i think it was 11 and 22 but will find out for deffinat.
  15. #15
i ran my r6 bodies on o/e management, my mate mapped the ecu for free as a tempory measure until standalone got paid for.
was abit lumpy here and there but it got the car able to drive when i needed it to
  16. #16
    nice mk1 matey
  17. #17
When people say standard ecu do they mean with a piggyback (dastek etc.) Always confuses me as thats what iv got and is that sufficient for bodies?
  18. #18
i didnt use anyform of piggyback, straight up o/e with a map

    then got my emerald
  19. #19
i've seen a gti-6/xsara vts engine using standard ecu

    thread here

try getting in touch with wayne to talk about it though, i gave up.
  21. #21
my rallye is running kms boddies fine on original ecu thats been re-mapped
  22. #22
no this again, it can be done, but i wouldnt do it,

as on a standard ecu, tweeking it once it mapped is alot hard to do,

on a standalone ecu you cna tweek it once it mapped, and also a standalone ecu would be alot better.

but really should search this mate there was a massive thread about it.

This is certainly the main issue. An aftermarket ecu will give better results precisely because of this. How many load sites has the Predator got?
  29. #29
    12x12 ignition table , 16x16 fuel table

Could double it in theory as could have two tables for each and have it switch tables at a certain rpm eg 3500rpm.

my bad, i didnt see the date on this one, i thought it was a new thread about the same question that was asked a few months back about bodies on standard ecu,
