Bleed the rad system, could be an airlock. But if it persits it could be headgasket failure.

is it hard to bleed? and how can you tell if its a headgasket? are they dear to fix??
  4. #4
No its just 3 screws iirc. Theres a guide on here somewhere, or use a Haynes Manual.
As for the headgasket, one of the symptoms are a mayo type substance on the underside of the oil cap.
  5. #5
Could be Headgasket, airlock in coolant system, faulty thermostat, low coolant level.
  6. #6
insufficient coolent in system (many muppets over look this)
    thermostat faulty ( stuck shut)
radiator core blocked or pipes kinked
electric cooling fan faulty or switch
    presure cap faulty
ignition timing out out creates execess heat
    inaccurate temp gauge sender unit
    air lock in system
    leaking rad

its quite normal for a car to drive above half way mate, every car is different and some things will cause the car to be a bit warmer.. Is it actually going into the top section? Anywhere outside of there is considered normal really.. Unless it is actually going into the red
