hey ive been told that s1 rallye inlet mani fit on to my vtr and heard that an S1 head will fit on a wescoast im guessing it'll fit on to my vtr? if both of these fit will i see much of a gain for my money?

if you can pick them up cheap you will see quite a good gain for the money.

but trying to set the idle up with the rallye inlet can be quite a skill....

Id persoanlly just ditch the loser R and buy a rallye much better option

wht we do is, fit the head, inlet, but splice the rallye engine loom and run it on the rallye Ecu, and ur looking at 100bhp +, add a nice cam to tht and ur looking at 120ish maybe

i wish it was that simple, but its not mate

to do that theres a huge amount of wiring needing to be done mate, you may aswell just buy a rallye would be alot easier as some one else has already said

the s1 rallye inlet will fit your head mate, but like frankie says it is very hard to get to idle right, i have tried fitting one to my car aswell, but combined with the cam i have fitted it was quite hard to get to idle properly due to the cam timing being out plus its lumpy idle caused by the cam

but if you are able to get it to idle right then your quids in

buttt you wont gain 10bhp at all mate, you will gain 3 or 4bhp at very most tbh mate, you will get a lot more throttle response though materather than power gains, but you could try a mild cam aswell will see some good gains with the two mods

if you get a 1.3 rallye head or 1.6 rallye head as they run a mild cam standard plus they have better springs and non roller rockers so are better revving you could see around 120bhp, as a couple of guys on here have run the mild cam on standard vtr inlet i think it was and made 118bhp and 119bhp

theres alot to rad up on mate, dont always trust whats on 106owners though from what im told lol

the guy who told me that on 106 owners either owns or works for C&H tuning he gave me a quote for fitting the inlet, head, ecu, loom, injectors, fuel rail, cam belt, headgasket, tensioner etc but as ive gotta buy all this plus £150 for fitting its gonna cost alot of money so i dont like saying this but it looks like im going 16v route cus an engine is gonna be about £300 and my housemate (stealth106) fitted his engine within a day into his 1.4 xsi so it means free labour lol if i had to pay to get the engine fitted then i would be 50/50 but being a student i need as much power for my money as it isnt feasible for me to buy new brakes/suspension and pay out alot for custom modification just cant justify it, i did want to be different and not go down the 16v route but it looks like i am if i wanna reach 120bhp fairly cheaply
anyway thanks for all the advise at least ive learnt something new for future reference
