Anyone decatted using mk1 downpipe + relocating oil filter?

    Hi.

    Ive seen alot of people talking about de-catting a mk2 by putting a mk1 downpipe on and then moving the oil filter so it doesnt fowl...

    But havent seen anyone actually do it.

    Is it all thats needed... moving the oil filter / converting to a mk1 oil filter?

    ye m8 thats all thats needed, did this to my frinds mk2 vtr,
    got the filter converter from citreon, and filter
    wasnt much mor than a tenner

    u need the whole manifold m8 as the mk2 is a wider join caus of the cat
    shouldnt be 2 expensive £20-50 maybe.

    Is it a job i could do with some ramps and tools?

    Or needs more of a garage help?

    Edit: If i went to scrap yard... what does the whole manifold include?

    The 4 part bit and then the downpipe? Is that all i need?

    Oh and does it matter what model of saxo the manifold is from?

    ye the 4 part bit, and the downpipe, wouldnt reall entail a garage,
    could do it your self easy enough,
    take existing manifold off, take existing filter and filter bracket off.
    replace filter with new one and filter insert
    fit mk1 manifold,

    Sounds like a project

    Is it possible to hammerite the manifold? So it looks pretty?

    Or will it just like melt?

    just reading ur lil thred u got going sounds like a plan too could it be possable to fit the mk1 oil filter coversion to a mk2 and still leave the mk 2 down pipe and manerfold in place 4 the time being ?

    heat spray would be fine, um not sure about mk2 manifold with relocated filter, nt sure on the clearance issues with cat in manifold.
