1200 wet to take the shine of the surface around the scratch/chip then get some putty called stopper from your local paint shop or halfords etc (only cheap) give a fine layer over you chip or scratch wait for it to dry about half and hour then flat it with 1200 again but take you time till it is 100% then primer it and wait for it to dry about 2-4hours depending on harder and weather its heat treated then wet flat again with 1500 then paint with base coat (colour) then wait for it to go takey about 10-15mins then paint laquer then wait till its dry and cured properly about a 1 week then wet flat with 1500 and polish it with farecla g10 compound apply the compound to the surface and then spray with water out of a spray bottle (only slight mist) then do light circle motions if you havent got a mop

    hope this helps mate

to do all this including the price of everything wouldnt be alot
    around £40ish depending on supplier
