Marks on Camshafts? Are these ok?

   Just taken the Rocker Covers off a friend VTS engine so we could check to see if it had uprated cams. Noticed these orange lines, as pictured in below pics, on the centre of each camshaft? Anyone any ideas if this is ok?

   its fine, they looked deliberately marked.
   
   its marks where the bearings sit when you start worrying

   Yeh I thought they looked deliberately marked too. They look like a screwdriver line or something , all the way around both of them. What could this mean? Something to do with the timing?
