ive stripped everything out from behind the front seats...

    and covering everything and anything!
roof, floor, in the quater arches, then filled them with foam, then over the top again!

another good thing to use, as deadening isnt cheap, is loft insulation and expanding foam!
ive used proberally 80% to 20% of second skin!
works just as well! if not better in some places.

best to cover anything and everything alough if your going for perfomance it weighs alot. i got mine from here http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/max-mat-pro-bulk.html . it done the full floor 1/4 panels tailgate and front doors and works realy well.

all depends how serious you want to go . .. and if its really necessary.
like said, its not cheap but its easily available.

again, lost insulation / expanding foam for boot lid.

for all the big holes eg boot etc id use loft insulation only problem with expanding foam is when it gets hot in the summer... tends to smell alittle :| but defo loft laggin for the major holes...

obv its expensive for what it is...

and as far as stripping goes... erm... everything? front and back seats out... then you want to lift the carpets and do all the floor...
all the boot inside the car where the wheel arches are... anywhere that noise can get in from...

    but is it really needed?

I did my vtr using 2 of the large packs of dynamat which i got from the states via ebay. It took 2 days to strip everything out and fit the material which has very sharp edges. I found out the hard way and sliced the side of a finger badly so I ended up with gloves to finish it. They recommened using a "special roller" to get it down into the corners but a wallpaper roller from B&Q did the same job at a fraction of the price.

It has made a big difference to the level of road noise and vibration coming up from the floor and the panels I put in the roof made the roof a lot less flexable !

thats the level i am hoping to go for, once all the remaining gaps are filled with insulation!
how much did that set you back out of interest? sure it wouldnt of been cheap!even if it was from the states!

mate can get hold of industrial rolls of it, 1.5 x 20 m . . . not dynamat level, more like second skin.
but temping to pay out for the dynamat because its got the name, and with anything regarding my install... i dont mind paying for it.

    HAHHHHAAA!!

I heard it doesnt work if its upside down... and that you should apply it using a glass hammer then fix securely with the screws and the left handed screwdrive, then for a finsihing touch apply tartan paint...

i think its around 56 quid for the larger sheets you can get.. which as said will do the majority of the car...

i think the best thing you can do for that is too look at progress threads... there is loads you can do to loose weight, alot of the dash isnt needed, back seats obv arent needed, spare tyre and cage isnt needed

Like i said, Check a progress thread of a track car
