I am going to be painting these soon and was just wondering what paint people have used and recommend for most long lasting and good finish.

    colour codeing?

    Primer spray laquer...

1 coat of primer 2 - 3 coats of the said spray... then 1 - 2 coats of laquer

sounds a bit thick or is that just me 'literally' lol. So if i want it anthracite, would you recommend using car paint like from halfords or going with the e-tech or other makes??

just normal spray in a can for halfrauds etc

well the laquer's an option, its only for the extra shine...

but the more can coats its got.. the less you'll see the inevertable scratch marks

i did this and this is how i did it

sand down area with some 1200 wet and dry clean dust so nice and sticky for the paint to grip
3 coats of primer leave for 24hrs
3 coats of designated colour paint leave for 24 hours
3 coats of clear laquer leave for 24 hours

looks awesome and hasnt got any scratches on it or imperfections

yeah as LVC sed. let it dry proper and sand it down of theres light scratches, on my first console, i let it dry for a couple of hours but then as i placed it back, i saw thumb prints on it, then i done a custom console which looks mint

leave it a good week to harden

especially on a part like this where it requires a lot of handling to get it back together

i too got fingerprints n the first set i did

also best to use a darker colour imo
