I've been reading the forums on here and after reading some of the guides it seems that moving weight eg. fly wheel and wheels can affect the cars performance. Understanding this would using steel wheels instead of the vtr wheels give me any more freedom accelerating? Was wondering of the weight of vtr/vts wheels with and without tyres to match with some aftermarket alloys? Finally, now this may just be me, but i had my spare wheel off today and thought it would look good powded white, would these be lighter than the standard alloys?
Lighter Wheels Quicker Acceleration?

#2unsprung weight is very important
lightweight wheels can offer great advantages
its been a while since ive seen anything regarding the issue, so cant give more info on it, in terms of figures / possible gains etc -
#3Ahh i shall keep lookin around then, seems i was spending too much time on de-cats, cams, re-maps, induction when most of it is being wasted moving hunks of alloy, a nice light steel set up would be nice, i kno this made a huge difference on my old fiesta zetec, with 15" team dynamic wheels it took ages to hit 60 as opposed to 13" steelys, however this could be due to the size.
