thinking of dropping me VTR 40mm all round. heard people saying about stiffer dampers, will they be needed at 40mm or is it ok on just springs?

#2Springs should be fine mate, however if you have the cash to be able to afford dampers as well then I personally would, better to be safe than sorry
-
#3i'm looking to lower my vtr also, about 40 or 50 all round, does anyone have any pictures of what 50mm will look like?
-
#4ok maybe a future investment then, best place to buy and a price guide for the dampers ?
-
#5Get a set of good dampers if you can. If you don't the car will tend to want to bottom out and this will make it very unpredictable.
-
#6my cars lowered 50mm its perfect just make sure you get the power steering pipe under the bonnet moved out the way otherwise it rubs and breaks the pipe
-
#7allways best to start as u mean to go on, meaning get the suspention sorted at the start. new dampers and springs, might take a bit longer to get the money together but then u dont have to worry about the oem dampers going on u after a while. oh and the ride is much better then just stiffer spings alone.
the power steering pipe is a must to move if u go over 40mm if that goes when ur blasting down a road it wont be pretty!! -
#8where do you move the pipe to?

#9My mk2 vts is 40mm all round, looks and handles fine..........

#1040mm, and get springs and shocks might aswell save and buy a proper kit, or a secondhand one.
Mines 40mm and imo its best if you like to drive your car on the road.

#12Mine has been dropped 40mm. I didn't uprate anything, apart from buying new shocks.
It is fine, except i'm sort of debating buying better dampers and springs.
Make the sure the garage lower it properly too- unlike mine.
