saxo ride height & lowering

  1. #1
hi, anyone any ideas on the saxo vts standard ride height measurements ??

looking at lowering my saxo vts... looking at 35 mm as dont want it too low !! will i need to change the front struts aswell as springs with springs obviously bein shorter ???
if lowerin the rear does that need shorter shocks or are standard ok ??? thanks

at 35mm it should be fine on standard dampers, all you will need to buy is a set of springs for the front,
uprated dampers would improve the handling and drive further though,
i plan to drop mine 40 all 'round on standard suspension

Going lower than 40mm id advise to replace the dampers all round, but 35mm isnt too bad u can get away with the standard ones no bother.

depends what the car will be used for

    35mm is win imo!

Yeah it'l be fine on standard, but obviously uprated dampers are alot better. But as said depends what conditions youl be using the car.

i've lowered mine 50mm on standard shocks and its fine for me(Y)
  11. #11
ours is 50mm front 45mm rear to avoid the whole issue with rear passengers scrubbing and the speedboat look

I'm lowered 40mm on standard shocks,

Very bumpy ride, Esp when your playing a CD and go over a hole in the road and the stereo jumps lol. but no problem for me

would it be possible to my car by on 20mm as i cant find springs to let me do it anywhere ?
  14. #14
Why would you only want to lower 20 mm? Dosn't serve anything then. 40mm is for looks and handling.

No, you can't lower it 20mm (Well you can if you cut the springs lol)

its just that i don't think i could get it up my drive as it is steep and i would be surprised if it would if the car was lower than 20 mm.

You could lower it 20mm if you had springs designed for the purpose. This isnt as hard as it sounds. PM AlexR on here, he will be able to help you.

IMO you should replace the dampers. Will get a far better ride/handling package.
