sorry coolent temp sensor or simular. Tells the ECU how hot the car is and how much fuel and air mix is needed etc

Cheers map location is is the plug with the wire coming off of it that you can see quite clearly on the left of the inlet behind the block? and does it just pull out?

think it on the thermostat housing bit wich is to the right side of the head.. or on the right side of the radiator cts im asuming the water temp sensor.. the map plug just pulles out of the sensor unit itself yes

Cheers Guys will take them out for a clean and maybe replace if they arnt too pricey as the cars very annoying in its current state and needs fixing

what engein is it off fella as im doing an engine swap and might have one spare in a few days so let me know how it goes and drop me a pm..

if your takeing a sensor out of the coolant system it might mean draining the coolant system.

Theres 1 torx(i think) bolt that needs undoing then the sensor will just pull out.

CTS is not really cleanable. I'd replace it as they are only about a tenner.

MAP sensor is held in with a 5mm (I think) allen head screw and then just pulls out. There is usually a fair bit of oily gunk inside them if they have never been cleaned. I found the best way of cleaning to be squirting WD40 right inside a few times for a few seconds.

I'd also try disconnecting and reconnecting every engine sensor a couple of times. This tends to improve electrical conductivity and hence improve the way the engine runs.

brake n clutch cleaner works well on the map sensor. Just make sure wahtever you use its silicone free

    3 sensors sometimes,

    -brown is aircon so unused
    - green is the ecu temp sensor
    - blue is the dash temp sensor.
