turbo kit on ebay

#2heres the thing, if you want it to run right on your car then get a turbo kit from Cituning, if not then buy ebay crap.
-
#3read up instead of posting shit do you even have a idea of what you want or how much it will be or is it a pipe dream
example im turboing my car witch i am
so my build is of
intercooler
peco injectors
wossner pistons and rods
intercooler piping
standalone ecu and map
t25 turbo
1.9mm gasket
gready bov dump
cituning mainfold
cituning down pipe
work the cost out of that then ask your self can you aford it -
#4Just saw that advert, person who wrote it can barely even spell!
the turbo could be smoking, blown.
no intercooler so turbo could of overheated, possibly blew the head and shot oil and god knows what through the turbo.
That's just some examples of what could be wrong, if your planning on doing a conversion, don't get some ebay jobby, take your time, do your research, there's plenty of people on here who know what they are doing, talk to gmc, talk to cituning, talk to dp-engineering.
And not to mention like sliderz said can you afford it? You got three options
Cheap
Reliable
Powerfull
Only 2/3 you can have. -
#5If you can't do the work yourself or most of it then it won't be a cheap build
gaz, sliderz, myself, saxo-89 plus a few other lads all doing budget builds but thing is we are actually doing most of the work ourselves. -
#6it aint a pipe dream! and im going to do the work myself ive have been doin reaserch! just wanted advice! im gunna go for the cituning stage 1 and go from there.thanks.

#7If you are talking about this one
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/saxo-106-turbo...d=p3286.c0.m14
Then its one of two things. 1 is its exceptionally poorly listed with many of the parts missing from the listing with a lot of artistic licence in the description. Or 2 its yet another pile of poo on ebay and its yet another conman.
What one do you think it is? -
#8"no intercooler so turbo could of overheated, possibly blew the head and shot oil and god knows what through the turbo. "
what? why would an intercooler cause the turbo to overheat
fact is, you can run without an intercooler if you wanted to. As long as the turbo is attached to the car and it is
- cooled well enough so the oil doesnt coke up and the engine doesnt melt
- the boost is low enough that the engine can handle it without melting
- the mapping is sufficient so it doesnt melt the engine.
Granted it wont make much power with a crap turbo and no intercooler but theres no reason atall why it cant be reliable and make a gain over standard, the reasons they don't 99% of the time is because people don't buy an oil cooler and don't have the car mapped properly, and get bored of the power so up the boost causing pretty much instant destruction.
That kits expensive for what it is.. and you cant see it on the car, if the turbos mounted on an angle that will starve it of oil then its useless. -
#9ryanmt, my mistake, but you are correct, should of put a , instead of the word "so" (busy day!) but there is a lot of possibilities of what could be wrong with it, then again for all we know could be a person who's dyslexic and it works fine. In the end in my personal opinion, wouldn't go for the package.

#10look at what you get in the ci tunining package then see if you can get hold of the parts seperately from other sources it will most likely work out ALOT cheaper
-
#11I don't really think you could make a substantial saving. At least not for the same quality of parts.Quote:look at what you get in the ci tunining package then see if you can get hold of the parts seperately from other sources it will most likely work out ALOT cheaper
Only way I can see you making savings is making complicated parts for your self. Thats great if you can.
Or start hunting about for use parts and getting very lucky. Most of what you fill see is warn out junk or really not all that sutable so you really do have to know what your doing and be lucky.
Or to buy cheap knock offs. But that is throwing your money away.
