Free itbs

    Today i went to see a relation of mine and i brought down the vts he was very impressed as it was the first time he had saw it i popped the bonnet and he was having a good gawk....he turned around to me and said that i should run it on itbs.....but as i explained the current finacial situation he looked at me and smiled and said i have itbs off my old 205 gti in the shed ya can have them for FREE i was delighted but will they fit my vtS??????PLEASE HELP ANYONE ASAP

    depends on what bodies hes giving you.

    You will almost certainly need a new inlet manifold then the standalone ecu + mapping.

    there carbs mate will still need an inlet making up, the cardbs will probs need re-jetting and balancing plus you ill need to run a dizzy set up, and a cam and some head work wouldnt be a bad idea

    oh and you will idealy need a rolloing road session to gat the carbs set up/fine tuned, a new mani and straight through exhast wouldnt be a bad idea, with that and them set up right id say 140-150bhp would be acheivable

    Don't fit carbs when you can buy itb kits that are fuel injected and for better cold starting

    carbs = backwards step in engine tuning.

    Get some solid grind cams in and it gets more fun

    ye defenetly a backward step, can equal cheap power but for the hassel you might aswell save abit and buy tb's

    dizzy set up bahhaaaaa its a vts not a vtr

    for the time and cash it gona take to get them to fit it be easyer tp sell them to me cheap and get itbs

    The engine/box would cost circa 8-10k to build to my spec with the same bodies and manifold/exhaust, ecu etc...
