   i have a 1.1 spree and was wondering what sort of top speed people have gotten out of them? ive hit about 101mph but have'nt been on the motorway yet!

   The clocks are never accurate at them sort of speeds anyway so you can never really tell unless done by a dyno test.

   Glad your not doing those speeds on the motorway as it would be illegal and very stooped. Most I have had out of a 1.1 is just over 160mph and that put the shits up me (not saxo )

   Really not worth it (a) on public roads and (b) in a 1.1 Saxo.
   
   Leave it for the track/airstrip and when you have a more suitable car buddy.

    with racing stripes.....you could probably increase power to somewhere between 150-170 bhp and i suppose if your really going for it then the brand new electric super charger kit is a must.
    
    With both of those....expect to see figures up to the 200bhp mark......maybe more with a SPORTY sounding backbox thrown into the mix.....

    think maybe this thread is slightly harsh... did he ever actually say it wasnt on a track?... i have a stupid 1.1 and yes thats the limit... sad thing is its the second saxo i have had... for some reason most people who have just passed their test (including me) thinks they are the best drivers in the world lol... and i did drive stupidly for about three months untill i flipped my first saxo (yes flipped, not rolled..) into a hedge doin 60 on a country lane.. since then i have driven much more wisely... and not had so much as a scuff since...
    
    i guess the point im trying to make is... "slow down prick"... probably wont make him drive any safer... the only thing i can do is ADVISE him to drive safely... not necasarilly obey every speed limit... but use abit of common sense... 100 in any saxo on a public road aint a good idea... they arent designed to drive well at those speeds... a buggatti veyron for instance will probably cruise at 160 asif you're doing 70... and still be easy to control... not condoning 160 on a public road but you get the idea...

    Actually they do. But more often then not its people complaining to the police about internet content. If you make a formal complain about what some one has posted and its a illegal act then the Police are obligated to act. Its normally videos as this is evidential in its own right but people have been prosecuted over forum comments many times before.

    Not berating you, but I’ve never heard of anyone prosecuted based on what is said on a forum. Someone could of been stealing their wireless/someone else on their computer, unless they can prove they were sat there typing it out, how do they know it's not anyone else?

    I agree you have to be responsible mate and drive to the conditions but enjoy your car as much as possible with in the limits. Your day will come when you can have a vtr/vts, and tbh I wouldnt bother with a vtr, save up and go straight for vts.
    
    by the way, I had my speedo hit 115 mph down M18 when I was 17 in a little 1.1 106. just dont get caught doing owt stupid. it never did me or alot of others any arm.
