VTR Axle Upgrade

  1. #1
I have just replaced the axle on my brothers peugeout 106 gti.
Is there anythink i could take off the old axle to upgrade my vtr axle E.G Torsion bars and Anti-rollbar

Both are differnent from the vtr, but will fit no probs.
Ideally you should change your front springs as well to compensate.

I have the front lowered by 60mm on spax springs but i will soon be uprating all my dampers and just want to know if changing the torsion bars and anti-rollbar over if that would make any difference I.E. better handling or is it not worth it

The rear ARB is thicker on the 106 GTI than the Saxo VTR. I would take it and the end plates off for the ARB. There are always people after 24mm ones

Can somebody please let me know if it will do anythink as i need to get rid of them if they do not do anything as they are taking up space i need

Thicker torsion bars act like stiffer springs
thicker anti-roll bars simply cut out more side to side bodyroll.

So, in theory, both will improve the handling of the vtr but only if complimented by similar changes to the front. I think people recomend 225lb springs on the front to adjust to the stiffness of the rear.

Doing one without the other will be fine under normal/easy driving but will be tricky under hard driving situations - with the back "too stiff" the front is more prone to understeer I think.

If anyone know bette, please correct me!
