Saxo VTS Project

  1. #1
    Hey
i've got a Saxo VTR at the moment, and im looking at selling it and gettin a saxo VTS

Reason for this is i start a new job next week and im gonna be able to sink quite alot of money into my car
and i wanna go for BHP and speed but i love my saxo so thought first things first, get a VTS

Im gonna be puttin about £300-£400 a month into it
i wanna get it lowered on airbags or hydrolics because of the bumps everywhere that are currently ripping my VTR's exhaust off, that possible on a saxo cos of the rear torsion?

What you rekon the best plan is? i dont know a great deal about mechanics so i could do with some help!
My main priority is speed, and obv to look good but i want it to stay looking like a saxo.

    Thanks.

Well for big bhp you will have to go turbo, supercharger or TB's. As for looking good, imo it doesnt take much to make a saxo look good. Keeping them standard with just a few little mods like you said about lowering, headlights maybe colour coding a few things and you got a nice looking saxo. Depending on colour you buy could possibly spray the vts wheels (if you buy one with them on).

  6. #6
TB's, Throttle boddies.? I payed about 3500 for it and need to put another 1500 to get it working at its maz eh. Its worth doing it.

There is a guy selling a vtr turbo kit on here. Dont know what kind of condition its in but if your interested then aslong as its in good condition could be a good starting point eh.

What power you looking for mate? If 200bhp or over i would suggest Turbo or Supercharger mate.

    First things first though.

    Get your self:

    Decat exhaust system
    4-2-1 manifold
    good induction kit

There the first steps to more power, check Kam Racing for some good kit

Then you may want to speek to some professional companies about Turbo or Superchargers and things, and decide on whats best then go for it

Higher the better i guess, ive got the viper pipercorss induction kit, the carbon fibre one so that'll do, and reading up on here i think supercharging is the best route to go

or just buy a civic/teg/crx with vtec engine standard, would be far easier and no messing about cutting the shell up and getting it running and fitted and converting to rear wheel drive

its not as easy as you make it out to be, it involves alot of work, and has to be done properly, it might cost about 8k for all the stuff you need, then you have to fit it, which isnt easy you may aswell just buy a jap car to start with

I think thats a bit of an over statement especially for the price you suggested.

I dont think i have ever seen / heard of a car with that power figure thats actually confirmed.
