Mk 2 Gear Knob

   Does anybody know if a mk 2 vtr gear knob will fit my mk 1?
   I have some ebay shite on at the mo, and the "metal" effect plastic coating is flaking off and it is not held on with any grubs screws.
   Any quick gear changes away from the lights and the fooking thing comes off in your hands!.

   I put a mark 2 one on mine, but I swapped the whole rod to the mark 2 one so it fits perfectly, you could probably use some grub screws to do it, but for a perfect fit i would just swap the whole rod as well as the gear knob.

   it's the same engine and box so yeahh bud,
   get to a scrappy find a mark 2, grab it pull up hard and give it a twist,
   then to reverse to put it on.

   Here, mate, this is what the Mark 2 rod looks like, not the white plastic block on the top of it, this is where the gear knob sits on..
   
   
   
   The mark 1 rod doesn't have this, hence why the mark 2 knob wont be a straight fit.
   
   For best results you will have to replace the rod to a mark 2 rod.. this is done by removing the gear surrounds/console and it is remove the bolt that goes though the bottom of it an replace with the mark 2 one, can be bought from scrap yard or dealer.

   No its part of the rod mate, pretty sure its only about £10 for the whole thing from citroen.

   I got the whole thing from citreon for £15 and that white bit didnt come with it?

    The white bit only comes on the mark 2 rods, its pretty much the same, but just with the white bit on the top for the newer style PSA gear knobs.

    Fair enough, ill take it back to citreon and swap it hopefully!
