discontinued part

i don't know if this correct section. sorry if not. i had an overheating problem with my vtr and found the pipes that go into and out of the heater matrix had got covered in oil from a previous oil leak.this had made them swell and become weak. i got the pipes off and went to citroen to get replacements.they had one of the hoses but the other is discontinued.this means if ever anyones pipe goes there is no replacement.no patent parts made,main dealer only.it is the longer of the two hoses that goes round the right hand side of the block. although its not a common problem does anyone else think this is stupid discontinueing a part for a car that at youngest is only 6 years old
