E46 Engines

I know im not asking about a saxo but just wondering if any of your guys have experiences with the engines

Atm i currrently have a 2.2 6 cylinder engine inside mine but im looking to put in a 3.0litre instead, im also considering boring it out to perhaps a 3.2-4 if possible. I have also heard its possible to bore out a 2.5 block to 3.2

Im still undecided on the boring out of the block but i will be supercharging most definalty i have tried asking many bmw forums but got this reply "just buy a M3"

Its not a route i want to take i much prefer the sleeper route and doing something a bit crazy

Next month the car is going in for a paint job then hopefully carbon bonnet and boot should be going on to

As for suspension i currently have the M-tech Coilovers so should be fine with that, then i will have to either fit M3 brakes or Big Brake conversion

After that i shall be working on the engine

As fair as i know its a straight forward swap for the 3.0. Im sure the E46 engines are a bit like the saxo 8v engines in the way that they are all the same apart from having bigger bore sizes and some auxiliares.

Dont quote me on that though

No expert, but i wouldnt bore an engine out by 0.7 of a litre (2.5 - 3.2)

Would just get a 3.0, then bore that mate

Youll need better brakes better suspension along with a long list of other things.

Youve been told to just save your money and buy a better car because its the best thing to do if you want a sleep buy a m3 stick the non m kit on it and make your self some money selling all the gen m3 gear.

Generally in the bm scene you dont bore cylinders out you use different rods to increase capacity for example i could put e46 330 crank rods and pistons into my 2.5 and it would make it a 3.2.

Like said before mate, very unwise to re-bore anything like that! Engine swap would be your best bet!

Fanatics is the best, but if anything gets posted on there like 99 percent of the noob retarded, i cant be assed searching questions like "how many cylinders does a VTS have" etc you will get flamed by everyone, watch your grammer too. Good luck with the engine!
