Legal allowance is 55/60W but many people use the 100W as saxo lights are like candles in jam jars

Did you by any chance buy some cheep ones off ebay? if you pay for some from a trusted manufactor you should have no problem as they will have been tested properly. ive had some in mine since i bought it and in all my other cars with no problem.

This happend to me with a set of Rings.

I found my bulb holders were at fault, and not the bulbs. Soon as I swapped them, been fine ever since

I've been using Ring Sportz blue for nearly a year now and no problems with them.

the Draw from the bulbs as said in some cases is enough to melt the wiring

Ive seen where the bulbs have got so hot they have melted the bulb holders and even the lamp unit themselves

Id rather having legal uprated bulbs or just buy a HID conversion

HID lights are illegal unless you get self adjusting headlights.

You never get pulled for them (unless you get a lairy colour), and they pass MOTs though so theyre all good tbh

Melting the wiring lol, shows theres a bigger problem, usually bad connections, try cleaning them. Dirty/damaged connections will cause more resistance, therefore generating more heat. Bulbs melting the wiring are pointing out a bigger issue. The same would have happened over time with 55w bulbs!
